UK Super Casino plans scrapped
Plans to build a Las Vegas style UK Super Casino in Wembley as a part of the new Wembley stadium appear to have been scrapped after a new council administration took charge of the local borough.
A Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition took control of the borough os Webley in the recent local elections and in there first council meeting on Monday 3rd July 2006 they promised to withdraw all applications for a new UK super casino.
The previous council administration had been prepared to carry out a public consultation on the issue but Mr Paul Lorber, Brent’s new council leader, plans to withdraw the application from central government, which would stop the Super UK Casino in Wembley from going ahead.
