The role of the UK’s deputy-prime minister, John Prescott, is under scrutiny again by Conservative MPs, this time for the allocation of licenses for Las Vegas style UK Casinos.
In particular the Tories are interested in the time that MP John Prescott has spent with the US Casino Tycoon, Mr Philip Anschutz.
Mr Philip Anschutz is the owner of AEG Entertainment, this is the company which was granted the lease on the Millennium Dome back in 2004.
Poker Face Prescott has been forced to deny there is any conflict of interest with his ministerial role and his personal relationship with Mr Anschutz but as he had responsibility for the regeneration of the dome at the time questions persist about his impartiality.
However culture minister, MP Richard Caborn, whose brief includes the new UK Casino proposals, dismissed the speculation as, a load of old rubbish, and said the insinuation was absolutely disgraceful.
